FCO has the capacity to perform the following: 

  1. Advise on voluntary and mandatory carbon accounting and trading systems and participation in emerging emissions reduction trading mechanisms.
  2. Develop carbon accounting methodologies.
  3. Develop project design documents.
  4. Register carbon credits for either voluntary or regulatory carbon markets.
  5. Commercialize credits.
  6. Provide scientifically defensible and credible monitoring protocols and services.

Assisting Organizations

Conservation Management Institute, Virginia Tech: CMI serves in a technical support capacity for project design and monitoring.  CMI is a research center within the College of Natural Resources at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.  CMI has extensive experience in monitoring protocol development and implementation for natural resources throughout North America with additional experience in Belize, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and Nepal.
